Sake The photo was provided by Lance Fearne. |
I've
Got A Secret Kenny returned to racing with a 4.3 length tenth in the Narooma Town Plate on 9 January. He has taken great benefit from that race and has had a couple of really solid gallops over the past three weeks. He will be a much fitter horse when he turns up for the Bega Town Plate on 5 February. His weight came down 8kgs after the race and he still weighs 492kgs. His coat is dappled and he is happy and healthy. I expect a much better run on Sunday.

Red
Captive Red returned to the stable today - 4 Feb. He looks big and rough but he is healthy and his tendons look good. I'll weigh him tomorrow and once he is shod we will see what we have to work with. Its great to have him back. |

Star Hawk 7yo
bay gelding by Black Hawk from Mercenary. Class 6 Bob brilliantly won over 2200m at Nowra last Monday showing that he is back to his best and that he needed a tongue tie. He has put on two kilo since the race and will be heading to Bega for the Sapphire Cup over 2200m on Sunday 5 February. He will carry the minimum weight and Willy has agreed to starve himself and ride him at 54kgs. The photo was provided by Lance Fearne. |
Greed
is Great Tash has had a win, two seconds and two failures from her five starts this campaign. I have no idea what happened last start but I am planning to step her up in distance for her next race. I will also put in a gear change and add the same kind of boot that her uncle Star Hawk wears. She will have her next run in the 1600m Class 3 at Bega on 5 February. Its a bit of an experiment but I think that she will run out a strong 1600m. The photo was provided by Lance Fearne. |
Noverre
Man
5yo gelding by Noverre from Cruyff Almighty 27 starts - 5 wins (19%) & 7 placings (26%) -$46,000 (Note: zero wins and 2 placings from 12 Canberra starts) Benchmark - 61
Barry's campaign is just not going to plan. He has had six starts without
earning a single dollar. I have given him an easy week after he failed
to handle the wet track at Warwick Farm last week. I have not decided
on a next run. |

Money
Never Sleeps Money Never Sleeps is back in work after a six week spell. She currently weighs 517kgs. She has had a few gallops and is working as well as ever. I am currently planning for her to resume at Goulburn in the Class 3, 1400m handicap on Friday 24 February. I The photo was provided by Lance Fearne. |
Street
Spirit Scout
has won her first two runs this campaign and her benchmark has rocketed
to 58. A number of changes in her work and daily routine has seen her
maintain her weight and race consistently. Unfortunately she could not
make it three in a row when she was beaten at her next two runs (both
over 1650) at Moruya. She is now ready to step up to 2000m at Queanbeyan
on 14 February. It would be fantastic if the track was rain affected.

Mighty
Lion Mighty Lion is finally showing her might. It took me 15 starts to realise that she needed a tongue tie and her three runs with a tongue tie have resulted in two wins and a second. She has now gone for a well earned spell and will return in late February. The photo was provided by Lance Fearne. |

Jimmy
Recard Jimmy showed that he is a stayer in the making with two excellent seconds over 2000m at Queanbeyan behind Safa Park Girl. He has been a bit picky with his feed since his race and he has benn naughty in his recent work. I have decided to spell him so that he puts on some weight and gets over what ever is troubling him. He went for a spell on 4 Feb and will be back in mid March. The photo was provided by Lance Fearne. |
Dubai
Ruler The horse formerly known as Lawrence has come through his first preparation with a sixth in his trial then finishing 9th beaten 8.8 lengths in his first race start. He was run off his legs in the race and I think that he will resume over longer ground when he comes back from his break. He has been back in the stable for four weeks and is holding his weight. He started three quarter last week and he is working and eating well. Things look very promising for Lawrence at the moment. |
Zeno
Rob Roy Filly Zeno is a half sister to Greed is Great and Money Never Sleeps. She came in from her post break-in spell with way too much condition on her (555kgs). She is now up to 1000m at three quarter and will have her first gallop next week. Her weight is currently 526 and she is starting to behave like a racehorse. Its time to name and register this stayer. I still have no plans for a trial but we will be heading to the gates in the next two weeks from some jump out practice.

Octagonal
Filly Octagonal Girl was broken in as a three year old and then spent a couple of weeks at the stable. She is a sister to Jimmy and a half sister to Street Spirit and she is currently spelling. All of the Revive foals are late maturers but this filly seems slower than the others. Still, she looks like a nice type and given the way the famlily is progressing, we will be letting her mature and looking forward to her racing. |
Elusive
Quality Colt This little fellow has been broken in and was in the stable for a couple of weeks to finish his education. He was gelded and had a ten week spell returning on 4 February. I'll put up a photo next week but he has filled out and lost his coltish attiude. He looks and behaves like a very nice horse. |
Dubawi
Colt This little fellow has been broken in and gelded. He is currently spelling and will probably return in early March. |
